Week 10 - beams, roof and electric

Image
The beam was up on Saturday of last week, then the rafters were added yesterday and today they started on the wood. Also at the same time, Monday we walked through the house putting up all the electric boxes where they should go.  Today the electrician was wiring them. It's now Thursday and the roofing material showed up this afternoon.  In between rain showers, they got half the roof on.  So excited!

End of Week 9 - End of siding - beginning of roof

Today they are almost finished with the siding.  Should be done tomorrow.  In the mean time they are starting with the roof beam.

Week 9 - siding going up

Image
Today they started on the siding.  We bought the liner and then the siding which has been drying for over 3 weeks is finally going on.  It looks much smaller with the siding.  Believe it or not the picture is of the south side which is 24 feet long.

Day 57 window holes

Image
Since last post they have been putting up the inside walls and cutting holes for the windows.  The problem is we ran out of wood and so did the building supply stores.  Order in advance!!!   We ordered some more on Friday, but they didn't deliver it yet, so today is Monday and they promised they would have it delivered this afternoon.  I'm ready to put a tarp over some of the rooms and move in! lol Looking toward the front door Looking toward the master suite :looking towards the other bedrooms and bathroom

Day 54 - inside walls going up

Image
So today they put up some inside walls.  They did the master suite bathroom and closet and the other bathroom walls.  We had the measurements for the bathtub in the 2nd bathroom, so we could put the walls up on both sides.

Day 52 & 53 - outside walls framed

Now the outside walls are going up!  Marked the window today.

Day 50 and 51 - floor

Image
The plywood was delivered over the weekend and the guys started on the floor and finished it the next day.  The supply companies only had 1/2 inch plywood, so we doubled it, my floors are an inch thick.  My builder likes to use 3/4 but couldn't find any on the island.
