It's FINISHED! End of week 21

Image
Hi,  sorry I haven't been posting, but it's been nothing but little things being done and it's hard to get excited about it.  We finally got the stain on the outside of the house, new driveway poured, all the scaffolding taken down, little bits of trim finished here and there.  Here are the pictures:  I'm still missing living room and dining room furniture.  We'll get a bed for the guest room right before our first guest arrives.   Hope you enjoyed my journey. End of Week 17 - cabinets

My cabinets are in, the granite is in and everything is beautiful.  Mangrove Bight did the cabinets and made me a video of the work: https://youtu.be/uujCUTYMLaA

Week 16 and 17

Image
Week 16 was a little slow until Saturday.  The interior received one coat of paint.  The deck got started and then on Saturday we had 9 guys working and most of the deck was on.  The closet in one of the bedrooms was framed out. Week 17 Granite is being installed today and tomorrow.  Thursday the kitchen cabinets arrive (the upper cabinets and the fronts and drawers on the lower cabinets).  The granite looks terrific.  I used Inovarq near Eldon's in Coxen Hole.  The deck floor is on and the little roof goes on tomorrow.

Middle of week 15 and Hurricane Lisa

Image
Things were progressing really well Monday and then Tuesday we got the hurricane warning for Wednesday.   We moved in Sunday night and spent our first night there.  No curtains!  Bought those on Monday.  The shower works and the toilet.  Monday - we got both toilets work, Tuesday the kitchen sink.    Tuesday all the lights were installed in the kitchen and dining room.  The floor is all down in the main area, all that's left are the two other bedrooms.  All mudding and taping is finally done.  Tuesday afternoon a couple of the guys boarded up my windows on the east side of the house.  Then Wednesday a "stay at home" order came out for Roatan, so no work was done today.  Bummer!

Middle of Week 14

Image
We are moving into the house on Saturday, so they have been pushing to have our master bedroom ready for us.  The floors are 1/2 way done.  They sand them once and then fill in the cracks and sand again, then it's painting the walls.  The bedroom door was attached to frames they made.

End of Week 13 update

Image
The guys got a lot done this week so we celebrated by bringing them pizza for lunch.  They were building a railing on the front door step today, the walls are all primed for painting, a secure place was built for the hot water tank and purifier.  The gutters were connected to the cistern.  Half of the electrical was wired in to the breaker box.  The tile was all completed, toilets in place.  Getting closer every day!  Travertine tile grouted in the shower - looks amazing!

Week 13

Image
So we had a RECO subcontractor hook up the electricity from the box to the house yesterday, so now we have electricity, it was on a temporary pole.  Today lots happened, the third coat of the mudding was finished today.  The front of the house now has the gutter, the posts were poured for the deck and the top of the septic tank was poured.  I got the sanding and dust out of the master bedroom closet so I applied a coat of primer.  I will do several posts this week, things are happening fast now.
